Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has mandated a rigorous enforcement of the existing ban on kite flying in Islamabad, following a tragic incident that led to the death of a seven-year-old girl caused by a kite string.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Naqvi expressed grave concerns over the incident and has called for a detailed report from the Inspector General of Islamabad Police. He emphasized the necessity for decisive and indiscriminate action against those found violating the kite flying ban. In response to his directives, Islamabad Police initiated a comprehensive crackdown in areas close to Rawalpindi, resulting in 23 arrests across 39 raids aimed at curbing the dangerous activity.
The move underscores a commitment to public safety and adherence to laws designed to prevent such accidents in the future.
