Interior Minister Orders Crackdown on Illegal Construction in Islamabad


Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced a comprehensive crackdown on illegal constructions and housing societies in the federal capital, following a high-level meeting in Islamabad. The meeting, attended by key officials including the Chief Commissioner, IG of Islamabad Police, and other senior officers, was convened to address the growing concerns over unauthorized developments.



Naqvi directed an immediate operation to dismantle illegal structures, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy to be enforced by the relevant authorities. He instructed that satellite mapping through the Land Information and Management System (LIMS) be employed to prevent further unauthorized constructions.



The minister highlighted the importance of enhancing the living conditions in Islamabad, urging officials to prioritize the safety and property of residents. Naqvi called for active duty from the police and administrative officers to improve the public’s trust in the system. He encouraged the introduction of new initiatives aimed at public service, promising full support for their implementation.



Additionally, Naqvi stressed the importance of maintaining effective control over the prices of essential commodities and ensuring the city’s cleanliness, especially during the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha celebrations. He urged officials to approach these tasks with commitment and a sense of national duty to achieve the desired outcomes.
