Islamabad, In a move to enhance the transparency and security of citizenship registration, the government has decided to create a comprehensive National Registration Policy. The decision was made during a high-level meeting led by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Naqvi emphasized the critical importance of the authenticity of national identity cards and mentioned that the consensus of all provinces would be essential for the policy. He highlighted that the new policy would help prevent illegal registrations. The Minister also directed the rapid finalization and implementation of the plan, expecting significant progress within the next few days.
Further directives were issued to establish NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) counters at Khidmat Centers to facilitate public access. The meeting also reviewed plans to expand NADRA centers in major cities, including the addition of Multan to the existing cities of Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi.
