Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has issued directives to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for the efficient drainage of rainwater in the low-lying areas of the capital territory, amidst concerns of torrential rains.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Naqvi contacted CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, emphasizing the need for his direct supervision of the drainage operations. The minister stressed the importance of clearing water from underpasses and other critical areas to prevent disruptions.
Naqvi also instructed that officers and staff involved in the drainage efforts should remain on-site until the task is fully accomplished. He further mandated regular monitoring of the capital’s streets, drains, and waterways to manage the rainwater effectively.
