Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Marks Youm-e-Istehsal, Denounces India’s Actions in Kashmir

Islamabad: On Youm-e-Istehsal, Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi issued a strong condemnation of India’s actions on August 5, 2019, which altered the status of Jammu and Kashmir, labeling the date as the darkest in the region’s history.

According to Press Information Department, Minister Naqvi’s message highlighted the severe repercussions of India’s unilateral moves, which he said exposed India’s violations and atrocities against the Kashmiri people to the global community. He paid tribute to the resilience and sacrifices of the Kashmiris in their struggle for freedom. Naqvi characterized India’s actions as crimes against humanity aimed at erasing the Kashmiri identity and expressed alarm over the daily martyrdom of Kashmiri youth in what he described as fake encounters and arbitrary detentions. He described the region as the world’s largest prison but reaffirmed that these hardships have not dampened the Kashmiri spirit for independence.

The Minister called on the international community to respond more sensitively to the plight of the Kashmiris, urging global leaders to heed their calls for freedom. He assured continued support from the Pakistani government and its people, promising ongoing moral, political, and diplomatic backing for the Kashmiri cause on all international forums.
