Islamabad: In an unexpected four-hour night visit, Federal Minister of Interior Mohsin Naqvi reviewed several major development projects in Islamabad, including upgrades to the Islamabad Expressway and Park Road, as well as renovations at the Jinnah Convention Center.
According to Press Information Department, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, briefed Minister Naqvi on the projects. The minister inspected the 7 km stretch of the Islamabad Expressway, including ongoing construction at Bhinder Bridge, and directed that the Expressway project from PWD Chowk to T-Chowk be completed within two months. He also requested plans to transform the Expressway into a controlled corridor.
Additionally, Minister Naqvi reviewed the 7.2 km Park Road widening project, aiming for its completion before September. He instructed local traffic authorities to devise a traffic diversion plan to minimize disruptions during the expansion. During his visit to the Jinnah Convention Center, Naqvi ordered a rapid and high-quality finish to the ongoing upgrade work and toured various sections of the facility.
Minister Naqvi also engaged in a symbolic planting of a sapling at the FWO’s camp office lawn, underscoring the government’s commitment to both infrastructural and environmental improvements.
