Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid a visit to the shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA) in Lahore on the occasion of his annual Urs, participating in the traditional laying of a chadar and floral wreath as part of the celebrations.
According to Press Information Department, during his visit, Minister Naqvi joined thousands of devotees in observing the Urs, a time of reverence and spiritual reflection. He offered prayers for the progress of Pakistan and the well-being of its people, as well as for the oppressed Muslim communities in Indian occupied Kashmir and Palestine.
The Interior Minister also took the opportunity to review ongoing projects at the shrine, including efforts for its decoration and renovation. The Secretary of Auqaf Punjab provided an update on these initiatives, detailing the advancements made in enhancing the shrine’s infrastructure.
Minister Naqvi extended his greetings to followers of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA) both in Lahore and globally, underscoring the importance of the Sufi saint’s teachings on peace and harmony, which he noted are crucial for contemporary society. He emphasized the need to adhere to these teachings to foster unity and cohesion among communities.
