Lahore: In a gesture of solidarity and inclusivity, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi extended heartfelt greetings to the Sikh community on the occasion of the Baisakhi festival.
In a special message, Minister Naqvi acknowledged Baisakhi as a joyful and traditional celebration for the Sikh community, emphasizing that participating in such festivities fosters brotherhood and unity. “We all equally share the joy of the Sikh community on this festival,” he remarked.
Minister Naqvi stressed the importance of collective efforts to strengthen Pakistan, a nation that he described as belonging to all its citizens. He highlighted Pakistan’s significance as home to sacred Sikh sites and reiterated the state’s commitment to ensuring fundamental rights, protecting life and property, and providing equal development opportunities for minorities.
He further stated that, under Pakistan’s Constitution, all minorities are granted equal rights to live and work in the country. Followers of Sikhism and other religions, he noted, enjoy complete freedom to practice their beliefs.
Minister Naqvi also underscored the government’s dedication to maintaining, renovating, and securing Sikh gurdwaras. He assured that the Sikh community has been provided with all necessary facilities to perform their religious rituals.
