Islamabad, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has mandated the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to intensify its efforts in combating corruption, smuggling, spurious drugs, and electricity theft. During a meeting held at the FIA headquarters today, Naqvi outlined the critical areas that require immediate attention, underscoring the urgency of tackling human smuggling, a concern that has been highlighted as a high priority.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Minister’s directives were clear and encompassing, stressing the necessity for the FIA to develop and implement effective strategies to curb these illegal activities. He specifically called for an update on the actions taken in response to the tragic Greece boat incident, emphasizing the importance of accountability and thorough investigation.

In addition to targeting corruption and smuggling, Naqvi highlighted the need to eradicate the distribution of spurious drugs and theft of electricity, issues that significantly impact public health and the national economy. He also tasked the FIA with formulating a comprehensive plan to prevent the illegal outflow of dollars from the country and to put an end to the use of fake documents for international travel.

The meeting concluded with a directive for the FIA to expedite their efforts and report back on the progress made towards these objectives. The Interior Minister’s instructions reflect the government’s commitment to enhancing law enforcement and security measures to protect public welfare and uphold the rule of law.
