Islamabad, In a move to enhance public accessibility to governmental services, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced that the issuance and renewal of National Identity Cards will now be available at the Union Council level throughout Pakistan. This declaration came during his visit to the NADRA headquarters in Islamabad.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Naqvi directed the rapid development of a plan to implement biometric systems at Union Councils, aiming to make the ID card process foolproof and more efficient. He also called for the expansion of NADRA centers in six major cities to better accommodate citizens and alleviate the difficulties currently faced at these locations.
The Interior Minister emphasized the need for stringent measures to dismantle the fake identity card mafia, ensuring the integrity of the identity management system. His visit included a briefing on NADRA’s digital monitoring systems, part of ongoing efforts to enhance the organization’s operational effectiveness.
