ISLAMABAD, A significant inter-ministerial meeting was convened at IPO-Pakistan on Wednesday to deliberate on the proposed amendments in the Copyright (Amendment) Bill 2023. Chaired by Ms. Shazia Adnan, Director General IPO, the meeting saw participation from representatives across various ministries and federal government departments.
According to a news release by Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan, the Director General emphasized that the amended bill, once implemented, would ensure protection for all stakeholders involved. With an aim to refine the bill further, the DG IPO has requested input and suggestions from the various ministries by November 6, to be integrated into the proposed Amendment Bill.
Additionally, Ms. Shazia Adnan informed attendees about an upcoming comprehensive awareness campaign, designed to educate both the public and private sectors on the nuances of the Copyright Amendment Bill, 2023. For effective dissemination, engagement with both private and state-run media outlets is planned. Among the notable attendees were the senior management of IPO-Pakistan.
