Lahore: On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, weekly general parades were organized across the province, including in Lahore. Senior police officers oversaw the proceedings as participating contingents presented their salutes.
According to Punjab Police, the parades featured officers and personnel from various units such as the Police Lines, Dolphin Force, Anti-Riot Force, Traffic Police, Mujahid Squad, SPU, Ladies Police, Investigation Wing, and Operations Wing police stations. The spokesperson noted that senior officers assessed the turnout of those involved, with contingents performing a march past, which included female personnel. These parades, held every Monday, also allowed district officers to inspect various sections, including quarter guards and motor transport wings.
Inspector General Abdul Kareem emphasized the purpose of these parades is to maintain alertness, discipline, unity, and a sense of brotherhood among personnel. He remarked that the parades exemplify the discipline, history, heritage, and traditions of the police force, contributing to the fitness and performance of officers and personnel.
