Information Minister Murtaza Solangi Calls for Realistic Economic Reform Agenda Ahead of 2024 Elections

Islamabad, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi, speaking at a seminar in Islamabad, has called for a consensus among political parties on realistic economic reforms. The seminar titled “Pakistan Election 2024: The Economic Reforms Agenda of Political Parties” was organized by the Press Information Department.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Solangi emphasized the need for major political parties to provide a clear economic vision for the country. He highlighted the urgency of improving the economy and urged parties to avoid politics that could jeopardize the country’s future. The Minister appealed to parties to propose practical economic reforms and to avoid making unfeasible promises.

Solangi confirmed that the general elections are scheduled for February 8 and assured that the government is committed to meeting the Election Commission’s financial, administrative, and security requirements.

Shahera Shahid, Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, also addressed the seminar. She stated that the government aims to initiate a debate on the challenges facing the country and possible solutions in light of the upcoming elections. The purpose of the seminar, she noted, is to inform the public about the issues the next government will face and the policies needed for overcoming these challenges and driving development.

Shahid commended the Press Information Department for organizing a series of seminars leading up to the elections and praised the media’s role in highlighting national issues.
