Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar stated that the public has rejected the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) gathering in Lahore, despite the party’s high expectations. In televised remarks, he emphasized that PTI leaders had made ambitious claims about the event, but these failed to materialize.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Tarar noted that the government ensured open access to the gathering and provided security, yet PTI was unable to draw significant public support. He criticized the lack of a clear rationale behind the gathering and suggested that the party’s objective was to create unrest rather than contribute to the country’s development. Tarar also highlighted positive economic indicators, including reduced inflation, a rise in exports, and a strong performance by Pakistan’s stock market, which he said is being recognized as the best performing market in Asia. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a stable and peaceful Pakistan.
