Islamabad, In a strong declaration of the government’s stance, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s national interests. During a news conference, Tarar announced a series of measures aimed at bolstering the country’s interests and outlined the positive market response following a recent agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Information Minister highlighted the return of certainty in the market as a clear indication of the positive impact of the staff-level agreement reached between Pakistan and the IMF. This agreement is seen as a critical step in stabilizing the country’s economic situation.
Further emphasizing the government’s proactive approach to economic challenges, Tarar detailed discussions from a recent cabinet meeting focused on austerity measures. Notably, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and cabinet members have agreed to forego their salaries in a gesture aimed at demonstrating their commitment to the country’s economic health and the well-being of its people.
Addressing recent controversies, the Information Minister also touched upon the Cipher case, referring to a hearing at the US Congress which he claimed confirmed the falsehood of the PTI’s Cipher conspiracy allegations. Tarar stated that the legal process would continue to address this issue, underscoring the government’s resolve to confront and dispel misinformation.
