Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has called for tranquility and harmony in the National Assembly, urging lawmakers to avoid turning political disagreements into personal conflicts. His remarks came in response to an incident that disrupted proceedings on the Assembly floor earlier this week.
Minister Tarar commended both opposition and treasury members for their willingness to extend apologies following the incident. He highlighted the importance of maintaining a cooperative atmosphere, emphasizing that the government is open to constructive suggestions from opposition members.
Earlier in the session, the National Assembly engaged in discussions regarding charged expenditures related to demands for grants and appropriations for the coming fiscal year. Key ministries and departments under review included the Pakistan Post Office, Law and Justice Division, Senate, National Assembly, Supreme Court, Islamabad High Court, Foreign Missions, and others involved in financial obligations such as foreign loans and domestic debt repayment.
The Assembly also considered the Senate’s recommendations on the upcoming fiscal year’s budget. Following these discussions, the Assembly was adjourned and is scheduled to reconvene at 11 a.m. the following day.
