Lahore: Information Minister Attaullah Tarar emphasized the importance of embracing Allama Iqbal’s philosophy of self-reliance across the Muslim Ummah, asserting its relevance and necessity in contemporary times. His remarks came during a visit to Mazar-e-Iqbal in Lahore, where he paid homage to the philosopher and poet who shaped the ideological foundation of the nation.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Tarar linked the improved state of the nation’s economy and its enhanced international relationships to the government’s adherence to Iqbal’s principles. He outlined the government’s efforts in youth empowerment and economic policies as direct reflections of Iqbal’s teachings.
The Minister highlighted recent successes in Pakistan’s foreign policy, noting significant advances such as a six billion dollar trade agreement with Saudi Arabia and strengthened ties with China. These achievements, he noted, serve as evidence of the practical application of self-reliance and proactive diplomacy championed by Iqbal.
