Islamabad, December 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Indonesia will provide one million dollar grant to Pakistan to address the impact of severe floods in the country this year. An agreement to this effect was signed by Chairman National Disaster Management Authority Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik and Indonesian Ambassador Adam Mulawarman Tugio in Islamabad.
It was informed on the occasion that this grant would be utilized in the recovery and rehabilitation of the most vulnerable population in Pakistan, to meet their basic need of food, nutrition, and shelter in the aftermath of floods. A portion of the grant could be employed for resilience and disaster preparedness interventions.
The NDMA Chairman expressed his gratitude to the government and people of Indonesia for showing solidarity and extending humanitarian relief assistance for flood affectees in Pakistan. The Indonesian Ambassador reiterated his country’s commitment to continue the support of vulnerable communities in the flood-affected areas.
