New Delhi, May 23, 2023 (PPI-OT): India’s dreaded National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced, today (Tuesday), a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to the arrest of a Khalistani leader. The NIA has announced the case reward of Rs 10 lakh for the person, who provides information about the Khalistani leader, Kashmir Singh Galwaddi, alias “Balbir Singh” and helps in his arrest.
Indian authorities have registered a case against Balbir Singh on the charges of waging war against India. As per the NIA, Kashmir Singh Galwaddi alias “Balbir Singh” a resident of Ludhiana city of the Indian state of Punjab, is wanted in connection with the case, which was registered on August 20 last year under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the black law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The case is related to the Khalistan Liberation Front, Babbar Khalsa International, and the International Sikh Youth Federation in which these organizations have been charged of plotting to wage war against India.
The agency sought vital information on Galwaddi, which led to his arrest or apprehension, and stated that “the identity of the informer shall be kept secret.” The NIA provided the telephone, WhatsApp, and Telegram numbers, as well as email addresses, of its Delhi headquarters and Chandigarh branch office for people to provide information about him.
Since April 23, prominent Khalistani leader and the chief of Waris Punjab De (WPD) Amritpal Singh has been imprisoned in Dibrugarh after being apprehended in Rhode village in Moga district of Indian Punjab. Nine other associates of Amritpal SIngh, including his close aide Papalpreet and uncle Harjit Singh, have been imprisoned in Dibrugarh since March. According to jail sources, he is being held in a separate cell.
Amritpal Singh was on the run since March 18, when the Punjab Police launched an extensive manhunt for him. The crackdown came almost three weeks after his supporters stormed Amritsar’s Ajnala police station on February 23, demanding the release of one of his close aides, Lovepreet Toofan.
