SRINAGAR, Indian forces reportedly took the lives of 17 Kashmiris, which included a woman and a child, in their acts last month in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service today, out of the 17 individuals, 11 were said to have been killed in false encounters and while in custody by Indian troops and police across various districts of the territory. These incidents left 2 women widowed and 10 children without parents. In the same period, personnel from the Indian forces, along with members of the National Investigation Agency and State Investigation Agency, reportedly arrested 78 individuals during home raids and executed 212 cordon and search operations.
Furthermore, Indian troops are reported to have detained over a dozen young individuals during extensive cordon and search operations and house raids in various areas including Srinagar, Ganderbal, Baramulla, Bandipora, and Budgam. Residences of Hurriyat leaders, like Abdul Samad Inqilabi, were also reportedly raided, with families allegedly being harassed.
Various Hurriyat leaders issued separate statements urging for a resolution to the Kashmir dispute through dialogues, emphasizing that the issue is political in nature and necessitates discussions among the primary stakeholders.
Elsewhere in the region, numerous Road Transport Corporation workers staged protests in Srinagar and Jammu cities, advocating for their demands and voicing their discontent against the authorities. A significant gathering of children from the remote regions of the Kargil district also convened, demonstrating in solidarity with Palestine and protesting against the reported acts against innocent children in Gaza by Israeli forces.
