Srinagar: In response to recent attacks, Indian troops have significantly increased their search operations and house raids across various sectors of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), escalating tensions in the region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Indian army and paramilitary forces intensified their efforts today in the Botapathri Gulmarg area of Baramulla district. The operation, which began after two Indian troops were killed in an attack there last night, led to indiscriminate firing that resulted in the deaths of two civilians.
The military’s response extended to Pattan and Tangmarg areas of Baramulla and various parts of Budgam district. Additionally, in Ganderbal district, troops have maintained a cordon and search operation for the sixth day following an attack on a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh highway in Sonamarg, which resulted in the deaths of a Kashmiri doctor and five construction workers. Residents suspect the involvement of the Indian Rashtriya Rifles in the tunnel site attack.
