Jammu: Indian troops have launched a large-scale cordon and search operation in the Kathua district of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. The operation is aimed at locating suspicious elements reportedly present in the area.
According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, the operation is being conducted by Indian army’s special forces in collaboration with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and local police. The operation commenced in the Billawar area of the district following intelligence reports.
Indian officials have indicated that the area has been cordoned off, and extensive searches are underway to locate the suspects. Residents have been advised to remain indoors and cooperate with the authorities during the operation.
Additional troops have been deployed to the area to support the ongoing efforts. The operation continues as security forces work to maintain control over the situation.
