Karachi, In a recent escalation of violence in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Indian troops are accused of martyring four civilians, including three in custody, in the Poonch district. This incident has sparked protests and calls for an international investigation into the matter.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian troops conducted a cordon and search operation during which Safeer Hussain, Mohammed Showkat, and Shabbir Ahmed were arrested and later allegedly killed in custody in the Bafliaz area of Poonch district. The arrests followed an attack on the Indian army, which resulted in the deaths of five soldiers and injuries to two others in the Dhatyar Morh area, under the jurisdiction of the Surankote police station in Poonch district.
The alleged custodial killings led to protests in the Bafliaz area, where demonstrators claimed that the civilians, while in custody, were taken to a hospital and declared dead on arrival by doctors. The protestors are demanding justice and an international investigation into these deaths.
In a separate incident, Indian troops are also reported to have martyred another youth during a cordon and search operation in the Akhnoor area of Jammu district. This operation was still ongoing at the time of the last reports.
These incidents have intensified the already volatile situation in IIOJK, with increasing concerns over the use of force by Indian troops and the impact on civilian lives. The call for an international probe highlights the growing demand for accountability and transparency in the handling of such conflicts.
