Srinagar: Indian troops, in ongoing operations, reportedly killed nine Kashmiris, including a woman, in November.
According to Kashmir Media Service, four of these individuals were allegedly killed in fake encounters and custodial situations. The month saw 12 Kashmiris critically injured, and 160, primarily Hurriyat activists, were arrested under laws such as the Public Safety Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. These incidents occurred during 196 cordon-and-search operations and house raids conducted by Indian forces in the region.
The operations resulted in three children being orphaned, and two houses were damaged, as reported. Additionally, 140 properties, including lands, houses, and shops, were seized by the BJP-led Indian government, purportedly to curb the political movement in Kashmir.
