Indian Supreme Court’s YouTube Channel Compromised, Displays Cryptocurrency Promotion

New Delhi: The official YouTube channel of the Indian Supreme Court was compromised today, displaying unauthorized content related to cryptocurrency instead of its scheduled live court proceedings. This incident marks the first security breach of its kind since the channel began streaming constitutional bench hearings in 2018.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the channel unexpectedly broadcast a video titled “Brad Garlinghouse: Ripple Responds To The SEC’s $2 Billion Fine! XRP PRICE PREDICTION,” promoting XRP, a digital currency developed by the American firm Ripple Labs. The video replaced what would typically be live footage from the court.

The Indian Supreme Court has deactivated the channel’s link and initiated an investigation into the breach to prevent future incidents.
