Srinagar: Another soldier from the Indian army has died following injuries sustained in an attack last night in the Gulmarg area of Baramulla, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, bringing the total number of military fatalities to three.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the violent incident occurred on Thursday evening when militants targeted a military vehicle in the Botapathri Gulmarg area, immediately killing two soldiers and wounding several others. In the chaotic aftermath, Indian troops responded with gunfire, accidentally killing two civilians employed as porters by the army.
The critically injured soldier was transported to a military hospital in Srinagar, where he succumbed to his injuries today. The attack has prompted a significant response from Indian forces, who have initiated extensive search operations in the region to locate the assailants. These operations are reported to be ongoing.
