Lahore, An Indian Sikh family, visiting Pakistan for the birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Sahib, founder of Sikh Dharma, expressed their gratitude to the Punjab Police for their exceptional service and support. The family’s visit to the Central Police Office in Lahore highlighted the strong bond between the Sikh and Muslim communities in the region.
According to Punjab Police, the family, led by Sardar Kanwaljit Singh from Haryana, India, met with IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar. The family, including Sardar Kanwaljit Singh, Sardar Jarnail Singh, Bibi Ravinder Kaur, and Sardar Harpal Singh, thanked the Punjab Police for the swift arrest of individuals involved in a looting incident and the recovery of all stolen money and goods. Sardar Kanwaljit Singh praised the Punjab Police as the best force in the world, citing their quick response and efficiency in apprehending the accused.
In an emotional statement, Sardar Kanwaljit Singh expressed his admiration for the Punjab Police, comparing them favorably to police forces in the USA, Canada, and the UK. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar responded by acknowledging the Sikh community’s trust in the police and their dedication to justice. He detailed the extensive investigation efforts, including the examination of footage from 1300 cameras, which led to the arrest of the culprits and seven additional gangs involved in similar incidents.
The event also included a cake-cutting ceremony to foster brotherhood between the Sikh and Muslim communities. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, along with senior officials including Additional IG IAB Muhammad Kamran Khan, DIG Operations Lahore Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, and DIG Investigation Imran Kishwar, commended the police teams for their immediate response to the incident and their commitment to ensuring justice.
