Indian RPF personnel kill civilian in UP 

Bijnor, July 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Indian Railway Protection Force (RPF) constables killed a 30-year-old civilian in Indian state of Utter Pradesh. A 30-year-old ice cream vendor was ruthlessly beat up and killed by Indian Railway Police including a chowki in-charge at Amroha city railway station in Bijnor district of the state.

The victim, Vinit Kumar, had an ice cream cart at the Amroha city railway station was picked up by some Indian RPF constables, a senior official who wished to remain anonymous told Indian media. His body was found on a railway track.

The victim’s brother, Chhotu Kumar, said, “When we heard that Vinit had been picked up, we asked RPF constables to tell us why he was being detained. However, they did not give us any clarification and forced us to leave. My brother did not come home all night yesterday,” Chotu Kumar added. After his body was discovered, the family gathered at the Amroha Railway Station to protest. An FIR was lodged on the basis of Chhotu’s complaint.

The accused, chowki in-charge Virendra Singh, constable Diwakar Singh, Sanju, Usman, Devendra Dhaki, and two “unidentified” others, were booked under section 302 murder act. We registered a case against seven persons, five of whom were identified as RPF constables. They were suspended by RPF authorities. We discovered injury marks on his body. An investigation is on and an autopsy report is awaited. the police said.
