Bhubaneswar, March 28, 2023 (PPI-OT): A woman has said that a constable cheated her physically on the pretext of marriage in the Indian state of Odisha. A woman has levelled serious allegations of cheating and fraud against a police constable in Bhubaneswar city of the state. The accused constable has been identified as Pritiranjan Behera.

The victim on Tuesday moved the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Bhubaneswar, after no action was taken by Mancheswar Police on her complaint. The victim said that the constable maintained physical relationship with her on the pretext of marriage. After staying together in a live-in relationship, the accused constable started avoiding her, she said.

“He (Pritiranjan) had kept me at a rented house and we were staying together. Later, he escaped and blocked me on social media as well as blocked my mobile phone number,” the victim woman said. The victim has also said that the constable also took Rs 20 lakh and gold ornaments from her.
