Singapore, An Indian man has been sentenced to four years in prison and six strokes of the cane in Singapore for molesting a British woman at a nightclub in 2022.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Erugula Eswara Reddy, a 25-year-old student in Singapore, committed the crime in August 2022. As reported by The Straits Times, the victim was intoxicated and waiting for friends at a Turf Club road restaurant when Reddy encountered her. Reddy forcibly removed the woman from the chair and took her to a nearby field, despite her repeated pleas to be let go. He then proceeded to molest her and undress himself. The severity of the sentence reflects Singapore’s strict laws against sexual assault and its commitment to upholding public safety and dignity.
