Indian MP says Govt denied him “political clearance” to attend conference in Pakistan 

New Delhi, October 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) leader and member of Rajya Sabha (Upper house of Indian Parliament), Manoj Kumar Jha has said that the Modi government has denied him “political clearance” to travel to Pakistan to attend an academic conference.

The conference on “Crisis of Constitutionalism in South Asia” is being organised by the Asma Jahangir Foundation, later this month. The RJD leader from the Indian state of Bihar was invited to attend the conference as a guest speaker for the closing session themed “The Role of Political Parties in Upholding Democratic Rights” on October 23, says a report by Indian Express. He told the Indian newspaper that the Ministry of External Affairs rejected his application for “political clearance” without assigning any reason.
