Srinagar, May 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): The family of a Kashmiri youth Zakir Nabi Butt, 24, who was killed in Saudi Arabia said that an Indian citizen murdered their son. Zakir Nabi Butt, from Qazigund area of South Kashmir, who was working in Saudi Arabia as a JCB operator, died after being deliberately hit by the Indian driver with JCB, his family said.
As per Zakir’s family, the JCB driver from Assam had entered into an altercation with Zakir a few days ago and was continuously harassing him. “Our son was working in Saudi Arabia for the last six months. He had informed us that an Indian citizen from Assam also working with him was harassing him.
Yesterday, at the construction site, our son was hit by a JCB and it was found that the Assam youth was involved in the act,” the family members said.
“We have urged the Saudi government to ensure stern punishment to the Indian man involved in Zakir’s murder. We have been told that the accused has been arrested,” the family of slain Zakir said. Since, anti-Muslim regime led by Narendra Modi came to power in India in 2014, attacks on Muslims inside India and abroad, especially Europe and the Middle East have increased manifold.
