Indian intransigence main hurdle in peaceful Kashmir solution

Islamabad, April 02, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Indian intransigence is the main hurdle in the way of peaceful settlement of the long-pending Kashmir dispute A report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, said the Kashmiris’ struggle for securing their right to self-determination will continue till the implementation of the United Nations resolutions. The UN resolutions reaffirm the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, it added.

It maintained that India could not change the disputed nature of Kashmir by illegal and unilateral actions like that of 5th August 2019 and the Kashmiris’ cry for right to self-determination couldn’t be silenced through such actions. India must revert its 5th August 2019 decision to maintain Kashmiris identity till holding of UN-supervised plebiscite, it added. The report added that Modi’s 5th August 2019 actions are aimed at snatching the Kashmiris’ unique identity and culture. Preserving their unique identity is an issue of life and death for the Kashmiris, it said adding Kashmiris are determined to protect their unique identity and culture, come what may.

It urged the international community to impress upon India to withdraw its unconstitutional decisions of 5 Aug 2019 and resolve the Kashmir dispute as per relevant UN resolutions The report said Modi regime’s plan to change IIOJK’s demography is against international norms and peace and stability in South Asia is linked to Kashmir settlement as per the UN resolutions The UN must fulfill its responsibilities regarding Kashmiris’ right to self-determination and India must be pressured to implement resolutions of the World Body on Kashmir.
