Indian Government Criticized Over ‘Operation Sindoor’ Setback

Islamabad: The aftermath of India’s unsuccessful ‘Operation Sindoor’ has sparked sharp criticism from Pakistan, with Senator Irfan Siddiqui labeling it a “shameful defeat.” Siddiqui, a prominent leader of the PML-N Parliamentary Party in the Senate and Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, expressed his views through a statement on X, a social media platform, emphasizing the gravity of India’s setback.

Siddiqui asserted that the failure of ‘Operation Sindoor’ had severely impacted India’s image, describing it as having left Bharat Maata’s ‘maang’—a traditional symbol of honor—filled with ashes. He suggested that this defeat had inflicted a blow that could not be mitigated by mere speeches or the passage of time.

In his remarks, Siddiqui also took aim at Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, characterizing his address to the nation on Monday as a confession of defeat. Siddiqui noted that Modi’s body language during the address reflected the demeanor of a loser, further underscoring the operation’s failure.

The senator recommended that, in light of such a significant defeat by the Pakistani armed forces, India would have been better served by maintaining silence rather than attempting to address the issue publicly. His comments underscore the ongoing tensions and rivalry between the two neighboring nations.
