Srinagar, The Indian government, under Prime Minister Modi, has initiated a tribunal chaired by Justice Sachin Datta of the Delhi High Court. The objective is to provide legal justification for its recent decision to proscribe the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), helmed by Shabbir Ahmad Shah.
According to a news release by Kashmir Media Service, this development has been formalized through a notification disseminated by the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
This action follows a prior declaration made 15 days earlier by the ministry, which branded Shabbir Ahmad Shah’s DFP as an illegal association under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act of 1967.
