Jammu: A significant cordon and search operation (CASO) was launched by Indian forces in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, targeting areas suspected of harboring insurgents.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the operation, focusing on the Badoa Pouni area of Reasi district, was initiated following reports from local sources about the sighting of two suspects in the nearby forest. This prompted a joint response from Indian troops and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, escalating security measures in the region.
This recent operation is part of a broader pattern of increased military activities across several districts in Jammu, including Kathua, Doda, Rajouri, Poonch, Samba, Udhampur, Jammu, and Ramban. Over the past two months, the Indian Army has intensified its presence, deploying more than 6,000 personnel, including elite Para Commandos and forces trained in mountain warfare, to counter pro-freedom movements in these areas.
The escalation of military operations reflects ongoing tensions in the region, as security forces continue to clamp down on separatist activities.
