Indian forces continue CASOs in Rajouri, Poonch and Doda

Srinagar, August 09, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops continued cordon and search operations (CASO) in Rajouri, Poonch and Doda districts. The troops conducted operations in Thanamandi and Chowki Choura on Jammu-Rajouri highway which entered fourth consecutive day, today, on Monday.

Similarly, intense searches are going on in Marmat, Bagwah and several areas of Doda and Poonch districts. Amid heightened measures taken in the name of India’s Independence Day celebrations, the troops launched cordon-and-search operations covering several villages in Samba district. Police and Army personnel cordoned off the Maheshwar area of Samba along the Jammu-Pathankot highway in Katli and Guwal villages and conducted search operations.

Meanwhile, India’s National Investigation Agency along with police and the Central Reserve Police Force, today, conducted raids against banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) members at five locations in Bandipora district for the 2nd day running in connection with an alleged militant funding case. Earlier on Sunday, the NIA conducted raids at 56 locations in all the 10 districts of the Kashmir Valley and 4 districts of Jammu region – Ramban, Kishtwar, Doda and Rajouri. The raided places were believed to be offices and residences of Jamaat-e-Islami members.
