Kotli: President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, has accused Indian forces in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) of extreme oppression against unarmed Kashmiris.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Barrister Sultan, while addressing a public gathering in Kotli, highlighted the ongoing violence that followed the revocation of Articles 370 and 35A on August 5, 2019. He pointed to the significant toll over the past three decades, claiming that Indian forces have killed over 100,000 Kashmiris in the region.
He also stated that many individuals, including Hurriyat leaders, remain detained in Indian jails, and that the actions of Indian forces have resulted in over 23,000 women becoming widows and more than 100,000 children orphaned.
Barrister Sultan called on the Kashmiri Diaspora to amplify their advocacy for the people of IIOJK on global platforms. He committed to confronting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies and continuing the fight for Kashmiri rights internationally.
Additionally, he condemned Israeli actions in Gaza and criticized the global community’s lack of response to the ongoing issues in Kashmir and Palestine. He cautioned that unresolved disputes in these regions could potentially lead to broader conflicts in South Asia and the Middle East.
