Indian ED summons Mehbooba Mufti’s brother for questioning

New Delhi, November 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Tassaduq Hussain Mufti, the brother of Peoples Democratic Party President, Mehbooba Mufti, has been asked to appear before India’s Enforcement Directorate (ED), today, where he will be questioned with regard to the alleged money laundering case.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Tassaduq Hussain Mufti, who was a tourism minister in his sister’s cabinet, has been asked to appear before the investigating officer of the case at the ED office in New Delhi, today, and get his statement recorded under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The investigation, as per reports, pertains to some funds allegedly received by him in his accounts from some Kashmir-based businesses. Reacting to this, Mehbooba Mufti said that it was a political vendetta against her. “The moment I raise my voice against any wrongdoing, there is a summon waiting for someone from my family. This time it was my brother,” she said.

Mehbooba Mufti, who has herself been questioned by the ED in the past in connection with another money laundering case, maintained that she has raised voice against the recent killing of innocent civilians in Srinagar. Four people were killed by Indian troops in Hyderpora area of Srinagar on Monday.
