New Delhi, December 15, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Indian Air Force Group Captain, Varun Singh, who was seriously injured in the chopper crash in Tamil Nadu on December 8, died on Wednesday at a military hospital in Bengaluru. The IAF said the Group Captain succumbed to his injuries this morning.
He was the lone survivor of the crash in which Indian Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika and 11 armed forces personnel were killed. Varun Singh was admitted to a hospital in Wellington in Tamil Nadu with severe burn injuries on Wednesday last following the Mi-17V5 helicopter crash. Last Thursday, he was shifted to the Command Hospital in Bengaluru from Wellington.
