Indian CBI raids Kashmiri firms, files separate cases

Srinagar, July 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has raided two Srinagar-based firms for allegedly exporting Shahtoosh shawls. The Indian CBI has claimed to have registered two separate cases against two Kashmiri private firms and others on the allegations of illegal export of shawls.

Two separate cases have been registered against two private firms based at Srinagar and Delhi and others including a proprietor of a private firm based at Srinagar. “The cases have been registered on the allegations of illegal export of 32 (26+6) shawls containing Guard hair of Tibetan Antelope (Shahtoosh). The export of such wild life material is prohibited under the provisions of Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972,” a ABI statement reads.

“Searches were conducted in the premises of both the firms in New Delhi and Srinagar which led to recovery of 4 shawls and incriminating documents,” it said, adding that investigation of both the cases is in progress.
