Srinagar, March 26, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that India by resorting to brutal tactics will never succeed to suppress the Kashmiris’ just freedom struggle.
The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the continued crackdown by Indian Army, police and investigating agencies on the freedom-loving Kashmiri people. He deplored that after failing to subdue the Kashmiris’ resolve for freedom through killings, extra-judicial executions, arbitrary arrests, torture and other brutalities, Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian regime has started attaching the properties of the Kashmiri people to intimidate them into submission. The spokesman urged the international community to hold New Delhi accountable for victimizing the Kashmiris for challenging its illegal hold on their homeland.
The High Court Bar Association of occupied Jammu and Kashmir organized a seminar in Srinagar to pay tribute to noted human rights activist, Jaleel Andrabi Advocate, on his 26th martyrdom anniversary. A resolution unanimously adopted on the occasion called for settling the Kashmir dispute by giving the Kashmiris their right to self-determination as guaranteed by the United Nations Security Council resolutions. Jaleel Andrabi was abducted by Major Avtar Singh of the 35th Rashtriya Rifles unit of the Indian Army in Srinagar on March 08, 1996. Three weeks later, his body was found floating in the Jhelum River. An autopsy showed that he was killed days after his arrest.
On the other hand, National Conference General Secretary, Ali Muhammad Sagar, addressing party functionaries and workers in Srinagar, maintained that there is no let-up in the everyday injustices committed on the people of IIOJK by the Indian authorities. Protest demonstrations were held in Jammu and Srinagar against the anti-people policies of the occupation authorities. The protesters raised slogans against the Modi regime and in favour of their demands.
Speakers at a webinar hosted by Kashmir Institute of International Relations and World Muslim Congress appealed to the world community to take serious notice of India’s settler colonialism agenda aimed at changing the demographic composition of IIOJK. The webinar titled ‘Unraveling the Colonization of Indian occupied Kashmir’ was held as a sideline event of 49th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council was attended and addressed by prominent human rights activists, international law experts and academicians.
