Srinagar, March 11, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian authorities have booked four youth under black law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for raising ‘anti-India’ slogans during Muharram procession in Srinagar in August last year. The youth have been identified as Rafaqat Ali, Muzaffar Hussain, Mohammed Abbas and Mudassir, all residents of Gund Hassi Bhat area in Srinagar.
Speaking to media men, a cousin of one of the arrested youth, who wished not to be named, said that the youth had initially been arrested in August 2021 after a Muharram procession in Gund Hassi Bhat area in Srinagar district, however, they were released the same evening.
The families of these youth were later informed that they had been booked under UAPA for raising “anti-India slogans” during the Muharram procession in Srinagar in August. On 7 March, 2022 the four youth were summoned to a police station in Kothibagh, Srinagar. “They went to the police station where they were taken into detention,” he said.
