Indian Army Lance Naik Fatally Shot in Rajouri District


Srinagar, An Indian Army Lance Naik, identified as Balvir Singh, was fatally injured by a gunshot in the Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, raising concerns about firearm safety among military personnel in the region.



According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred in the Nowshera brigade area of Rajouri district, where Lance Naik Balvir Singh was reportedly struck by a bullet, initially suspected to have been accidentally discharged from his rifle, on Monday morning. Despite prompt medical attention, Singh later succumbed to his injuries, and his body has been moved to a local hospital to complete medico-legal formalities.



The local police have commenced necessary legal procedures and have launched an investigation to ascertain the precise circumstances surrounding the incident and to determine whether the gunshot wound was indeed accidental.
