Srinagar, A police station in Kupwara district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir was violently stormed by the Indian army, resulting in the brutal beating of several police officers who were investigating a previous incident of army misconduct.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the confrontation occurred when a police team investigating a complaint against an army officer at his Batpora residence was met with resistance by an army unit. The situation escalated rapidly, leading to the army’s forceful entry into the police station and the assault on the officers present. Four Special Police Officers from the Special Operation Group, including Rayees Khan, Imtiyaz Malik, Saleem Mushtaq, and Zahoor Ahmad, sustained severe injuries and were hospitalized at Soura hospital in Srinagar.
This incident has sparked outrage among local human rights groups and political leaders, who have condemned the attack and demanded an immediate and transparent investigation. They emphasize the need for accountability and protection for police personnel against such aggression by the Indian army.
