Indian Aggression Met with Firm Response, Says PM AJK

Muzaffarabad: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, declared that Indian aggression along the Line of Control will not be tolerated and reaffirmed his government’s steadfast support for the affected residents. His comments came during an emergency meeting convened to evaluate the situation following recent hostilities by Indian forces.

The high-level meeting was attended by key officials, including Senior Minister Colonel (R) Waqar Ahmed Noor, Minister for Information Pir Mazhar Saeed Shah, and other senior authorities. During the session, PM Haq announced the creation of a Central Emergency Response Center, tasked with coordinating around-the-clock emergency operations. This center will integrate divisional commissioners, DIGs, DCs, and SSPs, ensuring that regular updates reach the Prime Minister.

Further instructions were given for establishing an Emergency Health Response Center and an Emergency Information Response Center, under the Health and Information Departments, respectively. These centers are set to maintain constant communication with the central unit to keep the public and authorities informed.

Former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Masood Khan, condemned the attacks on civilian populations, labeling them as violations of the UN Charter and international law. Khan described the incidents as “unprovoked acts of war,” which resulted in the deaths of three civilians, including an 80-year-old muezzin, and injuries to others in Muzaffarabad.

Khan emphasized that Pakistan’s response is in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, which allows nations to defend their sovereignty. He urged the international community to hold India accountable, stressing the importance of maintaining regional peace and stability. Khan also commended the resolve of Pakistan and Kashmir’s people and praised the Armed Forces for their response to Indian actions.

The Kashmir Media Service continues to report on these developments as the situation unfolds.
