Islamabad, March 14, 2023 (PPI-OT): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter has said that Modi’s fascist government is using the notorious agencies like National Investigation Agency, State Investigation Agency and Enforcement Directorate as a weapon to create a state of fear and harassment in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
APHC-AJK Convener Mahmood Ahmed Saghar in a statement issued in Islamabad said that Indian agencies are implicating the Hurriyat leadership in false cases to weaken their spirit for right to self-determination. However, he clarified that the Modi government will never succeed in its nefarious designs and the Kashmiri people will continue their peaceful struggle to achieve their inalienable right.
He deplored that the brutal Indian forces’ personnel are raiding and bulldozing houses of Hurriyat leaders, human rights activists, journalists and common citizens to suppress their voice for freedom. He said that Kashmiri political detainees are being shifted from IIOJK to remote jails in India. He demanded immediate release of illegally detained Kashmiri political leaders including Naeem Ahmed Khan, Moulvi Bashir Ahmed, Bilal Siddiqui, Aasiya Andrabi, Naheeda, Nasreen, Fahmida Sufi, Dr. Muhammad Qasim Faktu, Pir Saifullah, Ayaz Akbar and others languishing in various jails of India.
He condemned ban on the media and harassment of journalists in Kashmir, and said that Kashmiri journalists Asif Sultan, Fahad Shah, Sajjad Gul and human rights defenders Khurram Parvez and Muhammad Ahsan Untoo remain in jails. He appealed to international human rights organizations to ensure the release of Kashmiri political prisoners, rights activists and journalists. Mehmood Ahmed Saghar said that Indian soldiers are involved in serious violations of human rights including fake-encounter killings and other war crimes during the so-called search and siege operations in the occupied territory.
