India under fire after photos of bird litter filled seats of cricket stadium go viral

New Delhi, October 04, 2023 (PPI-OT): As the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup is set to begin on Thursday, India comes under fire for the sorry state of the seats, poor sitting conditions and bird litter scattered all over the seats of the Hyderabad cricket stadium witnessed during the warm-up matches.

According to Kashmir Media Service, C Venkatesh, a cricket writer, analyst and commentator, shared several photos and videos from Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium during a warm-up match between Australia and Pakistan on Tuesday.

“Nothing much has changed in Uppal stadium. Only some window dressing and spectator comfort still not taken care of in full,” he said in a tweet.

The World Cup matches are scheduled across 10 cities in India, from Dharamsala in the north to Bengaluru and Chennai in the south.

A total of three matches are slated to be held at Hyderabad. But the sorry state of the seats at the Uppal Stadium can cause a massive headache for the BCCI.

With poor sitting conditions and bird litter scattered all over the seats, it is a huge problem for the stadium management and fans.

Hyderabad apart from hosting the three World Cup matches has also hosted 2 World Cup warm-up matches.

The Pakistan Cricket Team is currently staying in Hyderabad and has played both their warm-up matches at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. Babar Azam and Co took on New Zealand in their first game and are currently playing against Australia in the second preparatory game of the tournament.
