Srinagar, In anticipation of India’s Republic Day on January 26, Indian forces have significantly heightened security measures in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The increase in security protocols includes more rigorous checking, frisking, surveillance, and patrolling throughout the region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Indian army, police, and paramilitary forces are employing advanced technologies, such as Black Panther Command Control Vehicles, drones, and CCTV cameras, to monitor the movement of people across the occupied territory. This intensified surveillance is part of an effort to maintain strict security during the national holiday.
The Indian military authorities have established large makeshift bunkers and deployed bullet-proof armed vehicles extensively, which has significantly impacted the daily lives of Kashmiri residents. Additionally, the forces are conducting continuous cordon and search operations (CASOs) in cities, towns, and villages across the territory, leading to increased harassment of the local population.
These heightened security measures reflect the ongoing tensions in the region and the Indian government’s approach to maintaining order during significant national events.
