New Delhi, September 26, 2023 (PPI-OT): In the wake of mounting pressure from the West to hold accountable the secret agencies’ officials involved in the murder of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada, India has leaked its intent to auction lithium reserves discovered in UN-recognized disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir in an attempt to lure the West.
According to Kashmir Media Service, India has claimed discovering lithium deposits in Jammu and Kashmir earlier this year, totaling an estimated 5.9 million tonnes.
The news leaked to a foreign media outlet revealed that the auction is imminent, with overseas mining companies, apparently from West, having expressed interest.
Earlier this year, the Geological Survey of India (GSI) reported the discovery of 5.9 million tonnes of inferred lithium resources (G3) in the Salal-Haimana area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district.
